Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Job Purpose:

The Maintenance Technician helps keep the production facility running smoothly. They are responsible for fixing and maintaining equipment, handling repairs, and ensuring the facility is safe and well-kept. They also follow regular maintenance schedules and help with installing new equipment.

Responsibilities:

• Fix and maintain factory equipment, the building, grounds, and utilities.
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs.
• Use tools like welders, drills, and grinders.
• Participate in safety, health, and environmental programs.
• Help create or improve new and old equipment.
• Other tasks as needed.

Skills/Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must know how to use basic tools and equipment (e.g., welders, drills, grinders).
• Basic computer skills (MS Outlook, Word, Excel).
• At least 3 years of experience with equipment repair (hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanics, basic electrical work).
• A technical certificate or post-secondary education is a plus.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work on your own without supervision.
• Good communication skills (can write reports and explain issues).
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Working Conditions:

• Work involves standing, sitting, kneeling, bending, lifting, and climbing.
• There may be exposure to loud noises, dust, and other factory conditions.
• Safety gear such as hearing protection, gloves, and safety glasses may be required.
• Work is done both indoors and outdoors on the facility grounds.
• The job may require using tools like forklifts, tractors, and power tools.

Food Safety Requirements:

• Report any repairs that could affect food quality or safety.
• Follow company rules for handling products safely in production areas.
• Make sure food safety rules are followed and take action if there are problems with food safety or quality.
• Help stop problems before they happen and report any issues to supervisors.
