About the Role

The Chief Compliance Officer (CCO) plays a critical role in establishing and managing the overall compliance framework within WaveBridge. This senior leadership position ensures adherence to regulatory requirements, ethical standards, and corporate policies. The CCO will oversee regulatory compliance, implement risk management frameworks, and ensure alignment with Lithuania’s and EU’s compliance regulations, fostering a compliance-conscious culture throughout the organization.

What You’ll Do (Key Responsibilities)

  • Compliance Program Management: Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive compliance program aligned with Lithuanian and EU regulations, including AML, GDPR, and other financial regulations.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Design and review compliance policies, controls, and processes to ensure they are effective and current with regulatory requirements.
  • Risk Management and Assessment: Identify, assess, and prioritize compliance risks, implementing controls to effectively manage these risks.
  • Regulatory Liaison: Serve as the primary contact with Lithuanian and EU regulatory bodies, managing audits, inspections, and inquiries.
  • Ethics and Conduct Oversight: Promote a culture of ethical behavior by developing a code of conduct and providing training on compliance responsibilities to employees.
  • Training and Awareness: Design and deliver compliance training programs for employees and management, covering essential topics such as AML, data privacy, anti-bribery, and fraud prevention.
  • Monitoring and Reporting: Oversee compliance monitoring and testing, reporting findings and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration: Collaborate with departments (Legal, Risk, Audit) to ensure cohesive compliance and risk strategies across the organization.
  • Continuous Improvement: Monitor regulatory changes, conduct gap analyses, and proactively implement compliance improvements.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in law, finance, business, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional Experience: 10+ years of compliance experience in the financial services sector, with at least 5 years in a senior compliance role. Experience in the cryptocurrency or digital assets sector is a plus.
  • Certifications: Professional certifications (e.g., Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager (CRCM), ICA Compliance Diploma) are advantageous.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Lithuanian and EU compliance laws, including AML, GDPR, and financial regulations.

  • Strong leadership abilities to manage a diverse team and foster a culture of compliance.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, particularly for executive-level reporting and regulatory communications.
  • Fluency in Lithuanian and English.
