Role Overview:

As an Accounts Payable Analyst, your job is to make sure invoices and expense reports are processed correctly and on time. You will be part of a team that helps improve our accounting processes as Newsela continues to grow.

Your main tasks will include:

• Checking and responding to emails in the Accounts Payable inbox.
• Processing vendor invoices.
• Answering questions related to Accounts Payable.
• Managing employee expense reports.
• Overseeing credit card transactions to ensure everything is compliant.

You will also work with vendors to set them up for e-payments, which helps them get paid on time. If any issues come up—like an invoice not being approved or sent to the wrong person—you’ll help resolve those too.

• You have at least 1 year of experience in accounting and a strong understanding of accounts payable.
• You are comfortable working with a lot of invoices and can handle the pace of a rapidly growing company.
• You know how to use various accounting software like Bill.com, Navan, and Netsuite. It’s a plus if you’ve been involved in implementing new software.
• You can easily manage expenses, prepaids, and accruals, and you are capable of doing an accounts payable reconciliation for our monthly closing process.
• You are organized, detail-oriented, and always looking for ways to improve processes and help your teammates.

Compensation:

• Base salary: $48,000 – $53,000
• Total compensation also includes stock options and benefits.
