About CISO Ascent
CISO Ascent is a one-of-a-kind retreat series designed for Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs) and senior cybersecurity leaders. Our sponsor-supported outdoor gatherings take place in breathtaking natural locations and combine leadership development, peer connection, and immersive experiences. These are not typical conferences. They are curated, invitation-only retreats where leaders step away from the noise, connect more deeply, and return recharged and refocused.
Role Summary
We’re looking for an experienced, resourceful, and relationship-driven Events Manager to lead the planning, coordination, and growth of our national retreats. You’ll manage every aspect of event execution, from scouting venues to coordinating hikes to recruiting the right attendees and sponsors. You should be equal parts event producer, relationship builder, logistics wizard, and natural host.

- Lead the planning and logistics for 2 to 4 in-person retreats each year, plus occasional virtual gatherings
- Select and negotiate with venues, hotels, transportation providers, and activity vendors
- Design thoughtful, inclusive experiences that balance outdoor adventure with strategic depth
- Travel to events to serve as the on-site lead and primary point of contact
Attendee and Sponsor Recruitment
- Identify and recruit CISOs and senior security leaders to attend retreats
- Build and manage relationships with potential attendees, helping them understand the value of the experience
- Partner with the founder to identify and engage sponsors who align with our values and executive audience
- Support sponsor onboarding, presence planning, and long-term relationship development
Stakeholder Coordination
- Collaborate with the founder and partners to design each event’s flow, content, and tone
- Ensure sponsor participation is integrated naturally and respectfully into the event experience
- Act as a liaison between attendees, sponsors, and vendors to ensure a seamless experience
Operational Management
- Coordinate guest communications, RSVPs, waivers, rooming lists, and dietary preferences
- Manage tools and systems related to event execution, including timelines, budgets, and checklists
- Own contingency planning and on-site decision-making
Post-Event Support
- Collect attendee and sponsor feedback and lead internal debriefs
- Track outcomes, apply lessons learned, and continuously refine the experience
- Help facilitate nonprofit donations by coordinating with attendee-nominated causes
What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of experience managing executive-level, luxury, or retreat-style events
- Proven ability to manage end-to-end logistics while keeping a premium guest experience in focus
- Experience recruiting high-level participants or clients
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Strong project management skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable with frequent travel and high-touch event delivery
- Self-starter who thrives in fast-moving, entrepreneurial environments
